Sean Joins The Working World!

26 Feb 2007 in Job Updates by Sean Aiken

(well kinda)

I helped out Whistler Bungee at a Travel and Adventure Trade Show in Vancouver, B.C over the weekend in exchange for one day this week. That day was today, so it gave me the opportunity to get caught up on emails and just try and get organized before things get going.

At the Trade Show, the day consisted of meeting and talking with many different people about Whistler Bungee, what they offer, where they are located, the adrenaline rush of bungee jumping in general, and the question of whether it is sky diving or bungee jumping that is more scarier. I have been told that bungee jumping is, though I have never sky dived before so I wouldn’t know for sure. Who knows, maybe it will be a One Week Job in the weeks to come and then I can give you a first hand experience!

Week One - WB photos 015

Some were unaware that there was a bungee jumping company up in Whistler, BC, but there sure is, and if you are ever in the Whistler or Vancouver area and feel like jumping off a bridge, there is no better place to do it than in the beautiful landscape they are lucky to have up there. I’ll show you some pics later on in the week!

I am the only person I know who has never owned a cell phone, and with the start of the project I am now finding myself in desperate need of one. That, and the fact that even my grandma has one, so I figured it was about time to pick one up.

If anyone has any cell phone ideas, plans, providers that they would recommend, please send me an email. Needless to say, I need a plan that has great long distance!

And if you haven’t yet, be sure to make your promise today.

    Sean,
I think what you are doing with this is wonderful. I want to help if I can. When will you be in Ontario for the 100 km dinner and where is that? I know some organizations/businesses in my area of ON that may be able to provide work.

    Hey Dave,

It looks like the 100km dinner is a no go for the time being. Yeah, if you know of any organizations/businesses in your area of Ontario that may be able to provide work, please let them know!

    Thanks a lot!

    Cheers,

I suggest Bell mobility if you don’t already have a cell phone.
Where ever you travel in Canada, YOU can call locally. This is called or considered Traveling with your phone.
The unfortunate side. If you have a Vancouver number and you are in, let’s say Ontario for example. The Ontarian calling you is getting the long distance charge. The plus side for you is you, With a Minimum package. Not sure which one that is. You can have a “touch base” number which allowes YOU to designated a number, except for your own . That you can call twenty times a month for free. I think it may need to be a local one.
Here’s the part I may think you might like. For $5.00 bucks a month. You can call all across Canada all weekend for free and UNLIMITED.Minus the $5.00 bucks a month of course.
This is called the Canadian Unlimited long distance calling plan.
Who knows.?. With a bit of pitching you might score a free phone from bell.
good luck and I wish I was you. Or at least as confident.

    Christophe.

Thanks for the tips Christophe! I was thinking of going with Bell so I will check back into it.

As for not being as confident, I think you would surprise yourself. I know that I most certainly am!

    Take care,

    -Sean
