One Week Job: Australia is a project in which Brisbane, Queensland resident, Paul Seymour, will work 52 jobs in 52 weeks throughout Australia in search of his passion. Anyone, anywhere in Australia can offer Paul a job for one week. Any money earned for the week, his employer will donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Australia.
The One-Week Job Project was created in 2008 by Canadian resident and recent university graduate, Sean Aiken, who struggled to answer the question, “What should I do with my life?” Determined to discover his passion, he embarked on an epic journey throughout North America working 52 jobs in 52 weeks.
With One Week Job: North America complete and interest from fans around the world, Sean is now focused on taking the One Week Job Project abroad.
One Week Job: Australia is the first international market, and 24 year-old Brisbane, Queensland resident, Paul Seymour, is the official jobber. He will accept one-week job offers from Australian employers and work 52 jobs in 52 weeks throughout the country in search of his passion. Similar to Sean’s original journey, Paul will travel to each job, work there for one week, and share his experience through blog posts, pictures, and video updates. Australia’s Career Coach, Helene Larson, will help guide Paul throughout his career search, lending her insight and expertise as Paul learns about himself and what he ultimately needs in a career to be happy.
Sean will be traveling to Australia to help launch the project and act as a mentor for Paul throughout the journey.
